The famous Venezuelan designer and member of FundaHigado America Board of Directors, was honored with the “Founder´s Award”, granted by the Council of Fashion Designers of America on June 4, in New York City.

Carolina Herrera was born in Venezuela and this year she has taken a big step in her career. Going from Director to brand ambassador of the House of Herrera, and the past June received the prestigious “Founder’s Award” at the CFDA Fashion Awards, which took place in New York City, where the most renowned figures in the fashion industry were applauded.
Other acclaimed fashion industry figures have also been awarded. Such is the case of Calvin Klein´s current Director, Raf Simmon, the Olsen twins, founders of the accessories brand The Row, the international supermodel Naomi Campbell and the socialite and business woman Kim Kardashian.
Carolina Herrera, encouraged by her friend and Vogue´s Director Diana Vreeland, made her debut in 1981 with a glamorous collection that became an instant success.
